After homeschooling my kids and even going with them to college, I decided to get my AA degree in mathematics. I really enjoyed my job as a homeschooling mom and when my kids went off to university, I continued working as a tutor at the Student Success Center of Orange Coast College, California. I worked for two years in the Netherlands as a math tutor and enjoyed seeing the differences and similarities with the US math education. High schools in the Netherlands place more emphasis on geometry, goniometry and statistics. I had a chance to tutor both privileged and less privileged students and saw how the already existing gap was prone to become even larger. Since I am back in the US, I work as a part time teacher at the Russian School of Math. Besides this I am a private tutor and help high school students with their AP calculus classes and college students with their college algebra and statistics classes. Seeing students improve is motivating me to be a math tutor.
