Hi! My name is Paula. I am mother of four, two of which were special needs babies. My daughter was a failure to thrive baby. She had special diet plans with strict schedules. My third child, a son, was born with hydronephrosis with bilateral double renal pelvis, high blood pressure, interstitial lung disease, and a small hole in his heart called a PFO. While all my daughter's problems are resolved, my son still remains with asthma, the PFO, and hearing loss. I also babysat a child who had down syndrome when I was a young mother as well as having experience with autism, ADHD, sensory processing disorder and auditory processing disorder. I am CNA trained as well as Infant/Child/Adult CPR, First Aid and AED certified. I love arts and crafts and fun in the sun. I have my own transportation and I am a non-smoker. I feel that special needs children have so much to offer that for people to call them anything but a gift from God stuns me. Can it be difficult at times? Yes. Will you be blessed merely by their presence? Absolutely!
