Absolutely would not hire again. Let's start with the good: She was on-time and 99% was there when she was supposed to be and was a good communicator when things came up in her life to not be available. She was physically present with my son and kept him safe. Now the others: I've reviewed countless hours of home footage and the single-most frustrating and heartbreaking image was watching my son engage with this person and be ignored. He would talk and reach out and chat and babble and she would just not say anything back. Not only is that back and forth important mentally for my son but also it's just a kind thing. It almost brings me to tears how many times I've watched him say something and I watched Paula just sit there and say nothing, not even face him, or just shift back and forth on the couch staring into the distance. My son was never harmed, he was fed, he was safe. But I would not recommend this person at all if you want them to be engaged with, not even constantly, but just the propensity of the normal expectation. Also, she will have unreasonable expectations for financial compensation. Was very aggressive with texting about when she was going to get her money (when we discussed it would happen on the last day of the week as soon as I could put my son to sleep because he's very hands on until bedtime.) Just an annoying aside so if you do hire, make sure to set expectations early on WHEN she'll be paid or you'll perhaps get passive aggressive texts too.
