I had 18 email exchanges with her, interviewed her, invited her over to our house to meet my family, offered her the job and she declined because she needed more hours/money. The hours I offered her were 41/week, so the real issue was money. However, the hourly rate I offered her was within her listed range and in the middle of the range that was quoted in my listing. I invested a lot of time and energy with this applicant, only to have to start from scratch after I thought I had hired someone!
