For the past four summers, I have worked as a camp counselor at a camp for children with autism. I loved working with those kids more than anything. We helped them in their daily tasks and social interactions, as well as on daily field trips. My mom is a teacher for the Special School District, and I have volunteered in her classroom since I was 13. I have worked with people of all ages and functioning levels, assisting them with eating, changing, hygiene, etc. I am currently studying to be an Occupational Therapist in order to work with children with special needs. I am truly passionate about it!
