I am 22 years old currently a fourth year student. I am majoring in Communication Disorders with the hopes of one day being in the field of speech therapy. I began working with special needs children when I was a freshman in high school. I worked one on one with a 4-year-old boy who was diagnosed with autism for 2 years. Then began volunteering at my high school in the special education department where I was a teacher assistant. There I was exposed to a wide spectrum of diagnosis. I was taught how to interact with students and as well as help educate them in the curriculum being taught. I have working knowledge in American Sign Language as I took in for 2 years.
