About Nina

I have a special education license from New Mexico. I was an art therapist previously. Therapy and education have areas of overlap including interpersonal skills, communication and awareness. I worked in both special and enrichment education in NM. I am a tutor with students of all ages and ability levels. I also gained NYC assistant teacher and substitute teaching licenses. I have experience with with ASD, including one high schooler, thought unlikely to graduate. He is now in his second year of college! Students need to attach to subjects they are struggling with so I like to convey a love of learning. If it's not fun and engaging, it's just drudgery. During this pandemic, I am prepared to tutor in careful, in-person settings. I am being very careful regarding Covid-19. I am looking for the same level of care in a family that works from home and follows NY Covid guidelines . I have a profile in childcare on care. com and have a lot of experience in that area also.
