Hello, my name is Nikki. I am 20 years old, and I have two years experience in working with adults with special needs and disabilities, as well as one year doing respite care. Although I absolutely love my job(s) and the relationships I have built with my clients over the years, I am now stuck in a position where I cannot move up. Which brings me here :-) I have experience in working with adults who have Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Schizophrenia, mild, moderate and severe Mental Retardation, etc. Ultimately, my goal is to help each individual achieve independence and reach their highest potential throughout their lives. I originally fell in love in with this field of work during high school, while I was a peer tutor for the Special Needs room all throughout my senior year, and immediately knew this was my calling. I am extremely passionate about my jobs and I hope to pursue a career in Special Education in the future. My schedule is pretty flexible for the most part, however I do already provide respite care for one other person so there are a couple of days where I'm unavailable.
