About Nicole

Hi! My name in Nicole, and I'm a lifelong New Yorker and Special Education tutor located in Brooklyn, NY. I am currently a masters students obtaining my certifications in special education grades 1-6, with a focus on learning disabilities. As a new special education teacher, I've been studying and practicing a variety of strategies and methods to adapt my teaching to the specific needs of my students. For the last year I've worked closely with a 4th grade student with ADHD and his family. Twice a week I create lessons based on diagnostic results of the student's specific needs. In creating this individualized learning plan, and in studying learning disabilities for the past two years, I have learned to differentiate reading, writing, and math lessons to meet my student's learning goals, and manage his executive functioning needs.
