There are no words to describe how great Athena is. She has been working with my daughter for a while now. She started as a tutor in History & ELA but, when one of my other tutors stopped showing up Athena was able to take that tutor's job as well. She breaks things down in a way my daughter understands & also shows her how the material relates to the real world. She keeps my daughter focused on the work but, also I over hear them talking about whatever is on my daughter's mind that day. Being heard is extremely important for a middle school girls. She gives her opinion while at the same time showing my daughter she respects her thoughts as well. Athena allows my daughter to think for herself and always gets my daughter to explain her answers before they move on. She is punctual, smart, patient, compassionate and extremely dependable. She comes regardless of the weather and that includes snow. She let's me know way in advance if she won't be available on a certain date. I hope to keep Athena as long as possible as my daughter's tutor.

I have a BA from Johns Hopkins and currently hold a master in Education. I have a combine experience of more than 10 years tutoring & I am a certified teacher. I teach/tutor Math (algebra to Calculus), and Languages (French, Spanish & Latin ) all levels. In addition, I also tutor various other academic subjects, specialized test (GRE, ACT, SAT, Regents, TASC/GED, etc.), chess, and organizational skills. I enjoy working with everyone and my ability to simplify concepts/materials makes my classes (sessions) fun, easy going, and easy to learn. I made it my passion to help , those I work with, improve and develop their academic skills. Optimistic as I'm, I believe there is always room for improvement and, nothing makes me happier than seeing the ones I work with excel in their subjects. Looking forward to hear from you soon.

We hired Pierre as a soccer coach for my two boys over the summer, ages 5 and 8. I wanted to two kids to have a rudimentary understanding of the game, build skills and endurance, and have fun in the process. As Pierre is a skilled teacher in many subjects, he was able to thoughtfully break down the elements of the game, and slowly build their skill sets over time. He adjusted his lessons to my two boys levels (they were at different levels), and kept boy engaged, which is more than challenging even for me! I appreciated his positive attitude, his patience, and that he pushed my boys when they needed that too. He's a great teacher all around, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again, not only for soccer, but also for chess, math, test prep etc. Pierre is smart, motivated, thoughtful, with a positive attitude. I have lots of respect for what he does, and he absolutely helped our family.
