When I first started my journey into care giving I started off volunteering in my school best buddies. Best buddies is an organization that worked with my high school to integrate special needs kids into a regular high school experience. I spent two years in this club which gave me a lot of experience. and really helped me in the long run especially with my psychology degree. I have specific experiences with autism. I worked with a Mother who had a nonverbal autistic son. I helped him with daily activities like bathing and grooming. I assisted with meal prep, cooking, and cleaning. we did activities together like movies, golfing, social gathering, and much more. ultimately forming a connection. a good friendship. I also have elderly care experience with dementia.
