I am an nurturing and dedicated child care provider with experience in nursery supervision, educational and recreational programs. I'm fluent in Spanish and English and engage children in conversation, reading, animated story telling and music in both languages. For visual stimulation, exercise and cultural enrichment, I frequently visit parks, museums and other local attractions with children. As background, I worked at a community church office for six years and served as volunteer in the Christian Education department and Social Concerns committees reaching out to families of all social backgrounds and recipients of special needs. I facilitated educational and recreational resources and supplied basic need items. During my tenure, I also participated in the successful opening of a thriving elementary school with a daycare program, an early childhood school of languages and a summer camp program. In addition, I worked in the coordination of extended programs (after school and summer school) for children from preschool to high school at an elite college-prep school for three scholastic years. Currently, I am a member and volunteer at a local community church involved in outreach programs. As assistant facilitator of children's church, I occasionally work with children ages 3 to 7 as part of a child safety program which fosters family values and open communication in a safe environment. Spending time caring for, working with and being a part of the educational growth of children is one of my greatest inspirations. Single parenting has equipped me with a profound understanding of children's needs, patience and unconditional love.
