I previously was engaged in a career for 17 years in which I worked to provide assistance to families in my local area. Throughout this time, I developed a passion for working with children who had disabilities and recently re-enrolled in a college program to obtain my degree in Special Education. This was partly due to the time spent with my cousin, who is a wonderful and bright young man who has special needs. While working and going back to school, I managed to fulfill my duties while maintaining a high degree of academic excellence with my schoolwork and was named 2013 and 2014 Dean's Scholar. In addition to my courses, I also was a member and Vice President of our local chapter's Council for Exceptional Children at a University.
