About Michele

After years as a professional, left to homeschool my daughter due to severe behavioral issues. Homeschooled 4th-8th grade. This evolved into volunteering to assist low level readers at the elementary level. Eventually tested and was hired permanently as a reading aide (K-6th) in the district after substituting in special education for a school year, as well as Sylvan and private tutoring. I have a great deal of experience working with all kinds of personalities and learning needs. I work closely with my teachers/parents to adjust and implement lessons to improve sight word, vocabulary, reading and writing levels, as well as math and foundational math for older kids. I am very proactive in identifying ways to modify teaching methods to provide best results for individuals and groups. This has evolved into working with middle/high school aged to complete work, organize, study skills, testing taking - basically anything needed to keep up, make up, reteach, and pass subjects.
