In my senior year of high school, I was in a program where students were paired with another student in the special education classroom. I was paired with another senior who I knew outside of school and was already in one of my classes. Students are paired with special education students in hopes that they can make a connection as something more than just students, but more as friends. I loved being able to become not only a lifelong friend to my buddy but also having become so close with the other students in the special education class as well. In my 2nd semester of freshmen year of college, I was required for a class to gain field experience in a classroom that was geared near my major. I was blessed with being able to complete my placement in Waukesha in the special education classroom. I was opened to a whole new world of children in kindergarten that came with a variety of special needs. These included Down syndrome, Fragile X Syndrome, Autism spectrum, ADD/ADHD, Angleman.
