Hello! I quit my full time job after 10 years at a national university to move to Florida and get out the office environment. I have spent the last two years providing care to a couple in their 80s. I am very friendly and outgoing and truly enjoy spending time helping those who need a hand every now and then. I am also the mother to an autistic teenager so I have experience with special needs as well. I also previously led an adult special needs Sunday school class at the church. My passion truly lies in helping others live a better life. I am up for almost any task as long as it fits my physical limitations, and would love to help you and your loved ones! My family is blessed by Melissa's presence in our life. She started working with my 80 year old Mom (who lives with MS and MCI) just over a year ago. Although we hired her as a companion to provide socialization and homemaker help, what she has become is my Mom's greatest life champion. Melissa's generous, thoughtful, and deeply caring approach empowers her to truly live her best possible life. Melissa understand my Mom's values, strengths, and what brings her joy. She helps Mom stay connected to all the things that bring her meaning and purpose - gardening, church, live music and staying "beatified" at the salon. Melissa's support is truly soup to nuts! She does everything from helping Mom make task lists to grocery shopping to meal prep to hair coloring to personal organization and so on... Melissa is prompt, professional, fun, organized and anticipates Mom's needs while not "over caring." There is not enough room to rave about her here!
