About Melanie

Hello, my name is Melanie, and I'm a 22-year-old recent graduate from San Jose State University, majoring in Social Science Teacher Prep! I have also worked at Lietz Elementary School in San Jose as an Extended Care Teacher for the last two and a half years of my four years at university. I have experience managing my own classroom full of about 20-30 elementary aged kids (TK-5th grade), in which I was responsible for planning STEAM activities, facilitating snacks and outdoor enrichment, as well as forming professional connections with students and their parents/guardians. Currently, I am also attending graduate school at Cal State East Bay as I am in their credentialing program, working to get my Single Subject Preliminary Teaching Credential in Social Science. I have well over 12 years of experience working with children as young as 3 months old, to high school age. But most importantly, I have a strong care and passion for children! I'm looking forward to connecting soon!
