About Melanie

I'm an active sitter that loves engaging children in activities that promote development and ensure a safe, warm, nurturing environment. I enjoy seeing the excitement in their faces when they discover something new or are genuinely having fun! I also love reading, singing, dancing, building fortresses, doing artwork, being silly, and just letting kids enjoy being kids. Even homework time can be enjoyable. (I have lots of experience working with kids who hate homework time.) I have over 10 years of professional childcare experience including nannying for a newborn/toddler; working with a special needs child and teenager; teaching swimming to children of all ages in various summer camps, aquatic facilities and after school programs; working in a day care while in college, and lastly, growing up as the oldest of four children, I have many, many years of experience being the neighborhood's parents' "favorite and most responsible" babysitter for all of the kids in our neighborhood.
