About Maya
I have tutored students ranging from kindergarten through high school in a variety of subjects. My background in child development and psychology has allowed me to understand and appreciate the diversity of an educational experience -- that each child's learning experience, like their person, is entirely unique. It is, therefore, my responsibility as an educator to adapt the way I teach to suit their skill set, to engage them with the material in a new and exciting way, and to teach them not only the subject matter at hand but to love challenging oneself with things that may at first seem daunting.

She built a great connection with my 12 year old daughter and was able to help her with Spanish, English, History, Math and Science. It was so wonderful for my daughter to feel like someone believed that she was smart and capable after a year of Zoom schooling. I highly recommend Maya. She is the perfect combination of directive teacher and cool young adult for tweens.
