My mother was born visually impaired so I have been exposed to this all my life. With different family members and friends having different disabilities (they themselves having disabilities) from Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, & mild to severe mental retardation, I am no stranger to special needs. My daughter was born three months premature with many issues so I was home with her for a year. I cannot tell you how passionate I am about the opportunities I have had working with the special needs community as well as the many rewards that have come along with it. There is not a day that goes by that I learn something new every day that I didn't know the day before.
