I'd describe my personality as patient, tenacious, and happy. I like tutoring because I love to make math easier and more understandable for people. I'm looking for a job that allows me to teach math without working within a school system constraints: fewer students, more freedom to focus on students as individuals, and teaching to communicate concepts, not just to pass state tests. I started tutoring when my own kids went to middle school. I became an "in-house" tutor at their school. After that I became a substitute and then a long term math substitute for FCPS. Then I was offered a special educational position helping students with math. I retired as a special education teacher specializing in math. In my spare time, I babysit my grandkids and take care of my animals on our farm. I also go camping and riding ATV's with my husband. I am available to tutor math for a few hours between noon and 6:00 pm, Wednesday through Friday.
