About Marjorie

My experience with childcare began when I was 12-years-old & I became the neighborhood babysitter. I got my first "real job" when I was 16 & I started working at a local daycare. I was a nanny during my first year of college for a family of 3 young children. After that, in 2003, I discovered the world of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) & began working with young children with autism. I graduated college in 2007 & started the teaching credential program, but decided that I was more interested in ABA than I was in being a teacher. I stayed in the field of ABA while working up the ladder until March 2014. The last position I held was a behavior consultant overseeing in-home & school-based programs. I decided to leave the field when we relocated due to a job offer my husband received. I missed doing childcare, so I took the transition as an opportunity to get back in the game! From April 2014 through June 2015, I worked as a nanny/babysitter with 12 children across 6 different families & I enjoyed every minute. I pride myself on being able to strike the balance between being authoritative & being fun. I use behavioral techniques while providing care in order to manage behavior and provide reinforcement. We have recently relocated to the Vancouver area & I am available for part-time childcare from now until March 18, 2016 (I am currently pregnant with our first child & due at the beginning of April).
