About Marissa

Hello! I began tutoring in 2020 with Syracuse University Athletics. While I was in graduate school, I earned my certificate in Intercollegiate Athletic Advising and Support. I learned best practices for teaching students how to find answers. I am able to teach material to students in ways that are unique to their learning styles. I worked in the academic success center at SUNY ESF and created workshops for students to learn time management, test taking preparation tips, and organizational skills. I also taught how to create a SMART goal and how to have a successful semester. I enjoy English, Communication Studies, Psychology and Sociology. I have a minor in psychology and 2 Masters degrees, one in Communication Theory and Research (from West Virginia University) and the other one in Higher Education (from Syracuse University)
