About Marcus

I am a graduate of Stanford University where I majored in East Asian Studies. I currently work part-time as a Creative Exec at a Production Company. I come from a single-parent household, I am the first in my family to earn a college degree, and I speak Spanish and Mandarin. I love setting an example to kids, because it is my belief that anyone can be anything they want to be regardless of where they might come from. In terms of child-caring experience, I have 5+ years of experience working with multiple families with children ranging from just over 1-year-old to the high school range. In Dallas, TX, I also worked at St. Philip's School and Community Center over the summer as the assistant to the program head. I watched over 20+ kids at a time during meals, classroom activities, and recess. Special interests: scholarship essays; math (algebra, geometry); Spanish/Mandarin homework tutorial. From experience, the best match is a family where I can serve as a tutor/manny hybrid.
