I have been working with kids for as long as I can remember! I have two younger sisters I grew up helping with and a 1-year-old nephew that I currently watch as needed. I went to UNC Charlotte for Elementary Education for three years and, after deciding maybe teaching was not for me, enrolled in the nursing program at SPCC. I am First Aid, as well as CPR certified. I am a certified CNA, and have babysat for so many families I can't even count! My two longest jobs as a nanny involved watching two autistic children (for separate families). The first, I actually met through this website and ended up nannying for close to two years until that family moved. It was during this time period that I helped the family handle the diagnosis of autism and was so glad I could be there to support and continue to watch the child for as long as I was able. The second family I met through friends, where I helped watch a 2-year-old boy who was diagnosed with more severe autism, as well as hearing problems. I am also currently employed by a Home Health Care (just started) and work with children with special needs i.e. physical disabilities and mental handicaps.
