About Maddie

I'm a tutor with 9 years of experience for middle and high school students, particularly in chemistry, physics, biology, and math from pre-algebra to calculus. My tutoring journey started in high school, when I had my first job at the Pala Band of Mission Indians' Learning Center. I fell in love with helping students tap into their own curiosity and critical thinking to boost their academic performance. I graduated from UCLA in 2020 with a B. S. in Climate Science. Now, I work as a grant writer at a climate policy non-profit, and I've continued to tutor part-time over the years. I want to help students not only succeed in school, but in their own growth and development. I figure out who my students are as learners, and help them not only succeed in the short term, but also cultivate self-awareness, confidence, and good habits for future success. I've also worked with continuing students on test prep, & even helped one woman improve her GMAT score by over 100 points.
