I have worked as a nanny and preschool teacher for over 7 years since 2000, and have a heart for understanding the needs of both the child and parents, serving as a partner in making the family unit stronger as a result of my presence. I see myself as a partner in parenting, and it important to me that I thoroughly understand the goals of the parents for their child(ren), as I develop a close, meaningful relationship with the young ones they love so much. I worked closely with a child with significant developmental delays from the time she was 4 months old, who did not speak until she was three. We were able to communicate almost intuitively, and my relationship with that family is still meaningful in my life. I have worked with other children with a wide range of needs and abilities, and feel passionately about wanting to make a difference with my work; a meaningful job is more important to me than merely a paycheck.
