All children require love and support and I find it extremely rewarding to provide those essentials to children who have special needs. I have the most experience with children on the autism spectrum, ranging from high functioning children with Asperger's to children who are much less independent and need a lot of extra assistance. In addition to babysitting, I was a volunteer through University with a playgroup of elementary-aged children on the spectrum. Through my daycare teaching position, I have also provided one-to-one care for toddlers and preschoolers experiencing emotional regulation difficulties. Lastly, as an intern in domestic violence prevention and response, I provide care and stability to children of all ages who have experienced trauma and abuse. From my experiences, I am equipped to compassionately provide appropriate care, and because I feel so strongly that every child is important and needs love, I am extremely passionate about working with children with.
