Hi, I can offer you someone who is a fierce advocate for people unable to speak up or care for themselves, which speaks to my character. I also see possibilities, which might otherwise not be recognized. In addition to these traits, I have experience. For 12 years I lived with an adult woman friend who was quadriplegic from birth, and was her personal care attendant. She was independent, worked, drove, and we traveled. I helped with medical and non-medical care. She passed away suddenly, and I am still grieving. I also have provided care for seniors with cognitive and physical difficulties. I've worked for a home care agency, privately, and for an adult day care. Currently I work with special needs kids, elementary and middle school age, in a school system, some of whom are Autistic. I was a medical person for adolescents in recovery for 4 years. I don't know everything, so I will ask questions, so I can do my best. I do get attached easily and I go above and beyond in everything I do. Currently I am caring for a 91y/o woman and have been for 1.5 years. I live in Los Altos.
