I have been working in a substantially separate classroom for students with moderate disabilities for the past 3 years - 1 year as a paraprofessional and 2 years as a lead teacher. The needs of the students in my class vary every year. I have experience with students with communication disorders, specific learning disabilities, Autism, emotional impairments, ADHD and intellectual impairments. I love my job tremendously. It brings me so much joy to see my students grow not only academically but also socially. I believe that the most important aspect of working with children is building a relationship and trust. When children know you truly care they are more invested in what you have to show them. I have a bachelors and licensure in Early Childhood Education PreK-2 with or without disabilities. I also have my masters in Special Education with a corresponding licensure. I am currently in the process of applying to a program in order to receive a certificate in Autism studies.
