I work in SPED and life skills department at Junior High. My classroom include students from 11-21 years old. I care for students with Down syndrome, low-functioning autism, developmental delays and a student with severe seizures. I feel blessed working with those wonderful people and help them thrive. At the end of the day it is very rewarding feeling to see what the have learned and see their progress not to mention we have so much fun! Previously I worked at preschool as a lead teacher where I got the change meet and spend time with students with high-functioning and low-functioning autism. I volunteered in a day camp for special needs children. Our main mission was to make them feel included and enjoy themselves. Caring for special needs children is a journey and there's so much to learn. I have learned so much from my student.
