I have been working with and taking care of 'typical' children for the past 11 years and have 8 years of experience working with children with special needs. I have the most amount of experience working with children with Autism and Autism-related disorders but I am open to learning more about other disorders as well and working with all types of kids. My usual age range that I work with is infants (4 months) to middle school. I am passionate about working with children, whether they have special needs or not. I believe that every child deserves every chance we can give them to succeed in life to their fullest potential. I also believe that each child's potential is different as every kid is different, has different skills, talents, and struggles. It's our job though to make sure that they have the tools and confidence to take advantage of those opportunities, no matter what their struggles are. I enjoy spending time with and teaching children as well as learning from them. I plan on becoming either an Early Elementary School Special Education Teacher or a Speech Therapist once I finish college. I am fun, out-going, loving, patient, and caring as well as a bit protective of the kids I take care of. I want them to have fun but they also need to be safe - physically, emotionally, and mentally.
