I currently work in an elementary school were I am a full-time paraprofessional assisting a boy who is diagnosed with Autism. I was able to develop a behavioral plan and visual schedule for him which limited the emotional and behavioral disturbances throughout his day. This has allowed him to learn more effectively and stay in a general education classroom. I am also in an internship at the middle school where I learn and practice School Social Work responsibilities. I run groups related to social skills, self-esteem and emotion regulation with students in special education. I have also previously worked at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services where I assisted adults with Mental Illness and Developmental Disabilities. I love discovering small improvements and learning within a child and enjoy helping them develop that skill even further.
