About Katy

I have over 12 years experience caring for family members living with dementia, one senior individual and one with younger-onset Alzheimer's. However, I consider myself a well-rounded care provider that is not limited to caring for those with dementia - my experience includes companionship, personal care assistance, help staying active, and advocating, just to name a few. For 8 years I was the primary caregiver for my family member with younger-onset Alzheimer's (ages 53 to 61). I cared for her in my home for 4 years, continuing the care when she moved to assisted living, and then while in memory care. I have gained invaluable insight and skills being present through the different stages of dementia and the aging process, all the way from providing companionship to end of life care.
