About Katie

My childcare experience began at 12 years old as a mother's helper for a neighbor who had a child with mental and physical disabilities. Throughout my teenage years I was involved with volunteering at my town's recreation department as a coach for new players. Teaching kids about a sport I loved was extremely enjoyable. During college I worked for four families as a nanny/household assistant. My families ranged from 3 school aged children, to 2 toddler aged children, to two families with newborn twins that I was with from the time the twins were 3 months to 3 years old. Other experience I have includes volunteering as an academic tutor/mentor for inner-city youth for two years. Before I completed my master's degree I worked for 7 months as a behavior therapist at an Autism center. I am a military spouse in the Virginia Beach area seeking a childcare job this summer. I am open to all week days and occasional weekends as needed.
