"Learning Should Be Fun!" is my educational motto. I believe that students who have fun while learning, will master needed skills, and become life long learners. Life long learners choose to learn because they want to (self-motivated), not only because parents & educators say they "have to learn." My 20 plus years of experience in private, public, online, and homeschool educational settings has proven this to be true. Over the past 10 years I've been the primary teacher/tutor for 3 families & 6 students. During this time I taught multiple ages using grade appropriate curriculum which met/exceeded WA State (private/public) and WHO (homeschool) standards. I have received certification in K-12 Curriculum(TM) & as a School 2 Work Trainer. I also have a BS in Social Work, an AA in Human Services, and am a certified Family Mediator. I am ready today for a new opportunity to assist students & families with educational goals. "How may I assist with your learning today?"

Kathy tutored/taught my grandson who is on the ADHD spectrum. She worked with him for 8 1/2 years, using multiple sources of curriculum, games, projects, etc. He attended a public school for home-school families two days a week, and Kathy tutored/taught him the other three days a week. Her patience, creativity, and joy for learning allowed my grandson to learn at his own pace...take extra time with some concepts while "blazing" through others, which were easier for him to comprehend. Within a few months of her "Learning with Him," as she would say, my grandson's love for learning became evident. He went on to a public college prep high school, where he graduated with honors. He has now successfully graduated with honors from college, and has an excellent job. But the key for me, as his grandmother, is that my grandson continues to love to learn...he has a lifelong love of learning...and I truly believe that came from his experience with Kathy.
