I grew up with several friends with different special needs from autism to down syndrome. I became very interested in learning more about these disorders as well as others. I decided to study psychology at West Virginia University as well as disability studies and theater. I was also given the opportunity to work in an inclusion preschool where I worked with both special needs children as well as non special needs children. It was a great experience and really made me want to continue learning and working with people with disabilities. I have also volunteered for different organizations that allow for recreational activities for adults and children with disabilities. I will also be pursuing a master's in special education which I will be starting this spring through West Virginia University. It is definitely something I am very passionate about. I believe that people with disabilities have the right to do everything that everyone else can do. I hope to become an advocate for people with disabilities as I continue to grow and learn more.
