I have 15 + years experience teaching adults ESL and am certified by ITTO (International Teacher Training Organization) from Guadalajara, Mexico, and by South Bay Literacy Council in Southern California. I was a nurse, nurse-midwife for 40+ years in multiple East coast states. I am not currently practicing and have no current licenses. I have been a guest lecturer at Georgetown University on Domestic Violence and sexual abuse recognition and prevention. I was a clinical instructor for Frontier Nursing Service (for about 3 years). I was a Child Sexual Abuse Prevention educator for Prevent Child Abuse Vermont for 6 years. I was also certified to teach Domestic Violence Prevention by ACNM ( American College of Nurse-Midwives). I spent 3 + years caring for my partner dying of cancer. I was a wife and mother of 2 sons. I speak low level conversational Spanish, but am not fluent. I have traveled extensively in Mexico and US, and have also spent time in multiple European countries.
