About Karen

Hello! I'm a mother of an amazing 19-yo and have lived, worked, and volunteered in Hood River for 20 years. My main career has been in communications but I prefer working one-on-one with people. I served 4 yrs on Parks and Rec board, have been a CASA, and have been through hospice training twice: for Providence in Portland and in Hood River. My most recent position was caring for a 96 yo recovering from hip surgery. I can help with mobility exercises, all personal care incl: bath rooming, bathing, dressing, mobility exercises, light cleaning, shopping and errands, administration of meds, and I love to connect and listen. I was the primary caregiver for my partner while he was on home hospice. My CPR and First Aid cert. has lapsed but I'm working to renew it. I am a Reiki 2 energy worker. Would prefer up to 20 hrs. per week, no weekends, at this point due to other commitments. I'm a hard worker.
