About Kala

I am currently an undergraduate student at Case Western Reserve University and I am studying biology and pre-medicine in hopes of going into pediatrics. I am originally from Jenison, Michigan in the Grand Rapids area. I started working with kids when I was a freshman in high school. I had a summer job as a nanny for some family friends. Since then, I have nannied for several additional families, tutored elementary students, assisted in a third grade classroom as part of a teaching seminar, and started an organization at CWRU that teaches kids at local schools about health and wellness. I am specifically skilled with infants, as I work as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in the step-down NICU at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's. My skills include organization, creativity, and compassion. I make a point to leave a house cleaner than I found it, I love coming up with different ways to keep kids engaged, and I truly enjoy listen to kids perspectives.

Kala was our summer nanny and as needed babysitter to our 4 kids (8, 6, 2 and a newborn). Our kids love Miss. Kala! She is an active caregiver; always hands on with the kids. She was regularly bringing different activities and crafts for the kids to do. Kala is a great communicator, reliable and on-time. We would recommend Kala to any family! We wish she still lived close to us.
