About Julissa

Hi! My name is Julissa (joo-lee-suh). I am a recent graduate from MTSU. I obtained my bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Science. I have always had a passion for working with people who have cognitive/developmental needs. I have been working as a CNA for two years in a memory care unit. I have also had experience working with individuals with IDD in various internships. I love making people smile, providing meaningful companionship, and I am an aspiring activities director, so I love doing creative projects with the elderly! I'd describe my personality as empathetic, creative, and calm. I like caring for seniors because I have lived with my grandmother since high school. This has been a big impact on my life because I love spending time with her. I'm looking for a job that allows me to meet new people who I can hopefully bring a little joy back into their life. Aging is challenging, a lot of seniors are at risk for loneliness, and I hope to prevent that!
