I worked alongside the special education program, and became a favorite in the open hearts open doors program when I was working in wheel ceramics. Kids with sensory issues tend to love clay, and I got to teach them to make wonderful art out of that! As someone who has also dealt with neurodivergence early in life, I am also very passionate about helping kids with autism and learning disabilities. Kids need someone who understands their issues in their corner, advocating for them and letting them know they're not alone. I believe I could be that advocate and positive encouragement they need.
