About Julia

As a certified PK-4 teacher in the state of Pennsylvania, I am not only highly aware of the standards and objectives that students face in the public school setting, but I am always interested and excited to help students grown beyond the typical requirements of a standard classroom. Over my four years of teaching in Philadelphia, I've come to understand the power of creativity when it comes to helping children learn. I try to make lessons engaging and different, I attempt to bring in outside experiences and diverse perspectives, and I want children to learn because they are motivated and see potential within their own selves. This summer I am hoping to tutor kids to help provide extra income as I head to grad school in the fall, but also to help more and more students become fascinated in their own selves and the ways that learning and expanding their knowledge can be the most gratifying, interesting, and joyful experience they can have.
