Hello my name is Cam, I am a college student at University of South Carolina. I am home for the summer. I am interested in helping a family with a special needs family member. I have experience caring for my cousin who is 24 and is on the spectrum. He is verbal but his IQ is similar to an 8-year-old. I am sharing this information so you have an idea of my experience. His moods can change quickly and I am always "on my toes" for any warning signs that he might be agitated. I really have a gift for this type of care. I am patient and caring yet know how to be stern when necessary. Some activities that I do with my cousin include; hikes, going to the zoo, coloring and games (he usually wins), shooting the basketball, walking the dog, watching sponge bob, and running errands. I know that it is difficult to find the right fit, please let me know of you would like to meet and hear more about my experience.
