Hello! My name is Jessica and I am a 25-year-old nursing student and people are my passion. I love helping others, especially individuals who are unable to help themselves. I have known since an early age that I wanted to be in the medical field and here I am! I have been a personal care assistant for two years now with the same client. She has Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), which is a type of Muscular Dystrophy. I have had the pleasure of learning how to properly lift someone to and from a wheelchair, dress, shower, assist with using the bathroom and other personal care needs; nebulizer treatments/Bipap, assisted coughing, cooking, cleaning and, most importantly, I have discovered how to be a companion while doing all of the above. Everyone is different and therefore their needs will be different, and I am capable of quickly picking up on others' needs and am able to adapt to any situation. I hope that this gives you a better idea of who I am and what I enjoy to do!
