About Jessica

I have a BA in psychology and I am currently enrolled in a competitive, remote program at SUNY Buffalo to earn my Masters in Social Work. I am well versed in applying creative problem-solving and teaching distress tolerance skills for young students who struggle with ADHD, anxiety, and depression. Those skills also help, though, for students with more 'normative' childhood development. I started working with kids when I was a mother's helper at 10, then throughout my growing as tutor or babysitter for friends and family. I love tutoring because I love helping kids to feel empowered and to gain mastery over new materials. Three words I would use to describe my personality are determined, warm, and creative and I like do arts and crafts, like jewelry making and painting, as well as reading and volunteering. I am also proficient in Spanish language, and always looking to sharpen those skills.
