About Jennifer

I have taught in a both a self-contained and inclusive special education settings in middle school. Prior to that I taught 6-12 English classes in the Caribbean. I am particularly passionate about teaching Literature and my undergraduate degree in that subject area and Linguistics have helped to grow my innate love of reading. I feel that my role as a teacher is to inspire students with a love for learning, to develop their natural curiosity about their world. Books have been and continue to be a vehicle for my own growth and it delights me to see that love emerge in young people as they embark on their own voyage as life-long learners. My more recent experience as a teacher of students with special needs have reinforced my belief that all children have unique learning strengths and the teacher helps in the discovery of these so that learning success can be realized. I have recently retired, but my love for learning and teaching interactions have not dampened.
