I have a history of being a Licensed Veterinary Technician, but have recently retired from that field to help humans. I worked as a Direct Support Professional in a home with 4 individuals in wheel chairs ranging from 25 years to 84 years old. I did absolutely everything for them. They were all high needs. I had to be rigorously trained to care for them. I was med tech certified, g-tube certified, BLS, first aid, CPR, seizure care, Hoyer lift, and I drove them in their specially equipped van to appointments and programs. I am currently in an Elementary school caring for neurodiverse 6-8-year-olds. Mostly I am a 1:1 with a student with a complex seizure disorder. I enjoy helping those without a voice, or unable to express themselves.
