I currently work at a nursing home as a home health aid. I help residents with lifting, transfers, feeding, bathing, toileting, showering, clothing, etc. I know many people enter this field of work for the money because it is pretty rigorous; but I care about the person! I see everyone as a human being. Senior care is about helping people who are coping with not being able to do things for themselves anymore, like they're aging backwards. Dementia patients especially, are stripped of everything that makes them - them, whatever I can do to make someone battling something so tragic live as comfortably as possible I will because what if that were me or one of my loved ones?
