I know the value that a good caregiver can have on a family. I'm a retired occupational therapist (30 yrs.), single mom of 3 adult boys & was a caregiver to my own parents (my dad w/Alzheimer's & my mom w/Parkinson's). I have a graduate-level degree & professional experience working w/individuals w/physical & mental disabilities. My training provides a unique understanding of an individual's needs across the lifespan. It helps me support their ability to live w/purpose & engage in their most meaningful activities w/as much independence as possible. I'm able to recommend adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, &/or assistive technology that will support this goal. I'm trained in child development & how to enhance learning. I have a friendly, relaxed nature & use a creative approach to facilitate a child's achievement of developmental milestones. I respect guidelines & directions given by family & communicate w/them according to their preferred method.
